TOM ROOZEN

Dear exhibitors,
I want to thank the organization BSCH and FMBB for their invitation. I would gladly tell something about my history in Belgians.

My parents got their first Belgian Shepherd mix (short black hair) in 1972. In 1985 they bought their first pedigree Groenendael, “Laska Batazicht” and the first litter was born in 1987. At the minimum age of 18 I was co-owner of the kennel in 1992. Since that time kennel “de Bruine Buck” has been a well-known name in Belgian Shepherd breeding. Of course, always within the limitations that a Belgian Shepherd need to be a healthy dog with a healthy mind we have breed dogs that have been shown around the world with great success. Many national, International, Worldchampions, Best in Show winner on Specialty shows and all breed shows as a result. Nine times Best of Breed winner and five times best kennel in Show at the biggest show for Belgian Shepherds, the NationaleElevage France are of special value for me.

Many years I have participated in the board of the Dutch Breed club for Belgians Shepherds (NVBH), the breeding committee and now I am foreman of the Show committee of the NVBH.

Professionally and personally, I have been doing many courses, studies to learn to know as much as possible from dogs and more particular from Belgian Shepherds. Part of this study were the courses to become a FCI confirmation judge, what was the case in 2018. Since this time world has changed much because of Covid-19, but still I have been able to judge Belgian Shepherds in Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, USA, France, Tsjech Republic and Spain. Very honored to judge my beloved breed in Greece now also.
